SYMPOSIUM ON FILM FORENSICS

The National Forensic Sciences University is the world’s first university dedicated to forensic sciences, established through the National Forensic Sciences University Act, 2020 and accorded the status of an Institution of National Importance (INI). The university is committed to triangular capacity building through education, research, and training. It strives to bridge the gap between forensic sciences, law enforcement, the justice system and now the film industry too, ensuring a more informed, integrated and effective approach to crime investigation and justice delivery.

Recognizing the growing influence of media and cinema in shaping public perceptions of crime and justice, NFSU strives to create a unique and important platform where forensic experts, filmmakers, and students can engage in meaningful dialogue. By facilitating partnerships between academic forensic science, crime investigation, and cinematic storytelling. This festival brings together renowned forensic experts, filmmakers, students, and crime enthusiasts for a captivating experience that educates, entertains, and inspires. Through screenings, panels, institutions and the entertainment industry, NFSU aims to showcase research, education, and the reality of forensic sciences through scientifically accurate and compelling workshops, and interactive activities, you'll gain a deeper understanding of forensic techniques and their portrayal in films and media. Whether it's an engaging thriller, a thought-provoking drama, or an educational piece, the competition highlights how forensic science can inspire powerful storytelling.

The best films will be screened during the symposium, celebrating the synergy between scientific accuracy and cinematic artistry. Winners will be awarded for their creativity, technical excellence, and storytelling prowess.

FILM FORENSICS QUIZ

Engage in a dynamic quiz that challenges your knowledge of forensic science as seen in films and TV shows. From iconic forensic films to the science behind investigations, participants will answer questions ranging from real-life forensic techniques to the portrayal of crime-solving in cinema. Test your knowledge, compete with others, and see who can unravel the mysteries behind the screen. This is a team round (2 members) and there are only a few limited seats for this round. Registration will take place on a first come first serve basis.
